Rhythms Sense to Order
Request more informationDescription
In 1988, Annet van Egmond spent extended periods in Noordwijk, located on the coast of the North Sea. There, she sketched the rhythms, repetitions, and reflections of the sea using charcoal. These sketches served as inspiration for her sculptures created in 2023. In these sculptures, the drawings come to life, with the color indicating the charcoal material she used at that time. The Kunstmuseum Den Haag has acquired some of these sketches, which attests to the recognition and appreciation of Annet van Egmond’s artistic talent. These new sculptures represent a beautiful transformation of her earlier work and invite spectators to discover the depth and layered nature of her artistic journey.
